A kitchen renovation in progress in a Kelowna home, new white-oak cabinets going in.

Renovations · Kelowna

Renovations,priced on paper.

Kitchens, bathrooms, basements and whole floors. You know the scope, the price and the dates before the first wall comes down.

Renovations

A renovation is where a handshake costs the most. Walls open, things are found, and the number moves. We write the scope room by room, list what is excluded, and price any change before it is built.

  • Signed work order before day one
  • Every trade WorkSafeBC-cleared
  • Changes priced in writing

On your work order

Written down
before day one.

For renovations, the work order you sign spells out:

  • Every room in scope, and what is not
  • Fixtures and finishes you are supplying, and what we supply
  • The price, and what is paid when
  • Start date, working days and completion date
  • Which permits are needed and who pulls them
  • How a change is priced and signed

How it runs

Four steps,
in order.

Every step is on the work order. Read the full Valiant & Bold standard.

  1. 01

    Walk the house

We see the rooms, open what can be opened, and ask what you want the space to do.

  2. 02

    Write the work order

Scope, exclusions, price and dates on paper. You sign when it says what you want.

  3. 03

    Protect and build

Floors and rooms you are living in are protected. Trades come in the order the work needs.

  4. 04

    Close it out

A written deficiency list with dates, then a final account.

Renovations

Questions
people ask.

What happens when you open a wall and find something?

We stop that item, show you, and write a change order with the price before the extra work is done. Nothing is added to your bill in conversation.

Can we live in the house during the renovation?

Often, yes. The work order says which rooms are closed, for how long, and how the rest of the house is protected.

Do I need a permit?

Structural, plumbing, electrical and many layout changes in Kelowna need one. The work order names each permit and who pulls it. Permitted work does not start before the permit is issued.
